Accessing ACC funded treatment

You need to see a GP, physio, chiropractor, osteopath, or other registered health professional able to lodge the ACC45 claim.

• Once the claim is accepted, you will be notified by ACC and a claim number issued
• You can then arrange a appointment directly with Coast Acupuncture. Bring a copy of your ACC 45 along with the claim number to your appointment.
• Coast Acupuncture will handle the ACC billing portion for you.

You can come directly to Coast Acupuncture once your claim is approved by ACC.

ACC Covers

• ​Injuries caused by accidents, falls, sports injuries, workplace injuries, or sudden strain
• Both new and existing ACC claims

• ACC does not cover non‑injury‑related pain (e.g., arthritis, long‑term wear‑and‑tear without an accident), but we can still treat you privately.

• ACC covers acupuncture for injuries caused by a specific accident, not for general health issues.
• Initial treatment blocks are typically 6–12 sessions, with extensions possible if clinically justified.
• If your injury is more than a year old, ACC may require prior approval before funding acupuncture.
